Panic At The Disco breaking up?

I too, am beyond words over this. Panic was the first band in this genre that I really listened to and liked. They were also indirectly responsible for my relationship with my sister getting sooooo much better then it used to be. We used to hate each other, and then we went to a Panic concert together, realized that we had stuff in common, and now she's my best friend. I am really sad to hear about this.

I was so shocked to hear about the news...didn't see that one coming. I will miss their music a lot. At least I got to see them perform live, just once though, before they decided to break up.

either i'm not seeing something, or i'm not jumping to conclusions, but i see and have seen nothing about them having broken up.

it was posted on their website and on myspace that Jon and Ryan are leaving the band to start their own project, but Brendon and Spencer are going to continue on with Panic. So Panic is still a band, but with 50% less members. They are still going to release their CD and tour as scheduled.

i'm really curious what everyone thinks about the recent pictures with ryan and some cocaine.

obviously i don't know him, or any of the band members, at all, but the more recent ryan ross just seems like a huge tool to me.

Oh, I haven't seen those pictures. Is it actually cocaine? Cause someone posted pictures of Sisky on FBR Secrets a while ago, saying that he was snorting cocaine on the side of the stage, but to me it looked like he was scratching his nose and people were trying to start shit.

I de-friended Brendon Urie from facebook over a year ago because he was always updating about getting high and snorting cocaine with friends and it made me loose a lot of respect for him, and still wanting to enjoy Panic's music, I figured I would de-friend him and just focus on musical Brendon instead of trying-to-show-off-about-his-drug-abuse-to-a-bunch-of-kids Brendon.

I haven't seen those pics yet. I'll have to explore.

In other news, i hope their new CD is more like Fever and way less like Pretty.Odd.

it was just a picture of ryan with a few other girls and on the table in front of them was supposedly cocaine. idk i dont even really care anymore i guess.

I read from Alternative Press that the exclamation point is back and a clip of their new song.

I just listened to it for the first time, and I liked it, but I wasn't overwhelmed with love for it or anything. It definitely is a dancing song, that's for sure. Maybe if I hear the entire song, I'll like it more. Idk... am I the only one who loved Pretty. Odd.?

unfortunately my favorite part was the lyrics, and I'm fairly certain Ryan wrote most of them.

Yeah, he did, which is what's going to make it so different. But Brendon did some of them, like Folkin' Around, which was a great song.
Like Aurora I loved Pretty. Odd., but A Fever is still my favourite album. I love the new clip, it reminds me a lot of AFYCSO. I'm really excited to see what Brendon and Spencer come up with.

i agree. i think brendon's voice is 100 times better than ryan's (in my opinion haha). and spencer is a kick ass drummer, brendon can already play guitar and god only knows what else haha. if they get a bass player, they'll be totally fine i think.

of course, i am anxious to hear jon and ryan's stuff...

Brendon's definitely the better vocalist of the two. Brendon can do piano/keyboard as well haha. I think maybe he does play bass as well? Don't quote me on that, I'm not sure, but I think he does. So even if he plays it on the record and they find someone else to tour with them it'll work.

I am too, but I have a feeling I'll like Brendon and Spencer's more... haha.

oh i totally agree. i am in love with brendon's voice. i could listen to it forever hahaha i sound like such a fan girl. but i dont know why, his voice is probably one of my all time favorite voices.

Same! His voice in "Open Happiness" makes me smile every time I hear it hahaha.
Was it you that recommended The Follow Through once? And you said his voice sounded like Patrick/Brendon? I think it was you, but sorry if it wasn't haha. I completely agree on that, too.

I totally agree about Brendon's voice. One of my favorite voices ever, because it's really original. It was actually in my dream last night, that I'm going to write up later and post on the site.

yeah i did recoommend The Follow Through a while back. their song So High makes me so happy haha.

and yes, Open Happiness can literally put me in a good mood in seconds. i always find myself snapping my fingers or whistling when i listen to it (sounds corny, but it's so true)

Ahhh it was you. I love that song. [I told my friend to download it and then, like, four months later she goes "I have to show you this song, it's so good, blah blah" and I said to her "Umm... I showed you this song months ago." She was like "OH. That's why it's on my ipod. right." hahaha]
