What Shows Are You Going To?

Since it's been awhile since we've had this topic I'll just go through a quick rundown of what I've been seeing since we last spoke, lol.

Probably the last one I told you guys was Believers Never Die ... so after that ...

07/03 - Tegan and Sara! (I love them. My friend and I drove down to Seattle for their show. They are freakin' hilarious.)

(My friend and I are again driving down to Seattle, but we're making a 3 day roadtrip out of it. I got these tix for $10 each! I couldn't pass them up and it was something to plan a little trip around. My only vacation of the summer.)

(which was pretty cool because the lead singer of The Dreaming used to play in Stabbing Westward)

(It was a Framing Hanley concert, but i was sick and had to leave early)

(Bamboozle Roadshow - I missed seeing Mercy Mercedes)

The Bamboozle - May 2nd and 3rd in East Rutherford, NJ
(hands down, best of the year so far. so worth the 11 hour drive)

Third Eye Blind, The Upwelling - May 21st in Detroit, MI
(i love me some Third Eye Blind - favorite band)



My next three concerts i'm going to?

Sugar Ray and Fastball - July 28th
Warped Tour - July 31st
Collective Soul - August 11th (possibly)

The old site died right before I went to Fall Out Boy and Soundwave in Feb. Both were amazing. I got to meet Chislett at FOB, he was in the crowd!
I went to the Living End in May, who were great as always.
I went to All Time Low last month too, which was awesome.
My next upcoming one isn't until next Feb, but it's ACDC. I'm going with my dad and it should be amazing. I grew up listening to this band so it'll be really cool to see them live.

There are so many great show this summer that I'm missing ... ACDC, Tragically Hip, Green Day ... I just don't have any money. Oh and I might go to Warped. But it's the day before I have 2 final exams. So I'm not sure. I have to buy the ticket by the 14th though if I want the early bird price.

I have no shows scheduled right now just because i'm so low on funds. I couldn't even afford to go see Hey Monday last week (don't make fun. they're my guilty pleasure), and it was like $15. And The Cab concert in my area sold out because the venue they booked can only fit like 100 people. I'm bummed about that.

Hey Monday is my guilty pleasure too btw haha. So, since I've last went to the old forum, I told you guys about the FOB and Hey Monday concert here. The I got to see the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Metro Station. Hopefully the August 11 concert of the All-American Rejects and Hoobastank will push thru here. Someone told me that it was canceled but I'm still hoping for the best.

I kinda wanna see Hey Monday. The first time i almost saw them was at a TAI concert last year, but they pulled out of the concert in my city. The second time was at Bamboozle, but someone else i wanted to see more was playing at the time. I'm sure i'll see them one day.

I am now seeing The Downtown Fiction on August 15th at a venue called The Fire. It's only $10, but it's in a horrible part of town. The next thing I have to do is convince one of my stronger male friends to accompany me so I'm not walking around alone in the worst area of killadelphia at night.

I'm seeing an awesome local band called The Composure this Saturday night along with A Voice Like Rhetoric. They're playing at a bakery in a not very good neighborhood about 25 mintes from where I live, so we'll see how it goes lol. I might be miserable during most of the show since I got my tonsils out a couple days ago.
The good part is that it only costs 6$

that's interesting that it's in a bakery. Kinda cool. I've never been to a show inside a bakery before. You'll have to let us know how that goes if you end up going. That sucks about your tonsils though. Feel better!

Wow, $6?? I'm jealous, I wish concerts here were that cheap. Ooooh, a bakery though, that's cool ahah. I hope you feel better! <3
Haha Aurora I don't know why but I'm laughing so hard at Killadelphia. Ok it is midnight, maybe that's why haha. I live in Cranebrook, affectionately known as Crimebrook lol.
Aimee, why was the Hoobastank/AAR concert cancelled?

I need a concert to go to. I'm not going to The Academy Is... and Anberlin next month, so I'm sad about that. I can't wait until Feb for my next concert, haha.

Lot's of people are going to cheep shows lately. I just went to No Doubt for $10 and it was AMAZING.

That is so funny that you're going to The Downtown Fiction Aurora. My friend and I recently got into them.

So I'm going to Kings of Leon on Aug 16 and I'm pretty sure I'm going to Warped on the 14th. And I'm probably going to go to this little acoustic show on July 31.

This is slightly off topic, but yes, I LOVE The Downtown Fiction. They are so talented and the lead singer, Cameron kinda looks a little like William, which is a huge plus.

There's this Australian band named Jet, I'm not sure how big they are overseas... but they're doing a concert at Luna Park (like a theme park kinda thing in Sydney) to promote their new album Shaka Rock, and I won tickets! It's on August 2nd, and it's being filmed and broadcast on TV and the internet.

Like as in "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" Jet? I love them! They were pretty big here for a while a few years ago. I remember listening to their CD on repeat in my high school boyfriend's car. So it was like 5 years ago, but yeah, great band! Have fun!

Yeah, that's them! Wow, I didn't realise they ever made the US market haha. That was such a good album haha.

Of course I know who Jet is. Everyone knows "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and I love "Cold Hard Bitch". I like Get Born better than Shine On. This guy that I liked and was really good friends with, LOVED Jet. I liked them before that but he really got me into them.

Well I just went to The Tragically Hip last night. It was FREE!! They just got a new sports and entertainment centre in Abbotsford and my friend's dad's company bought a box suite and so now they get tickets to everything. I almost paid $110 to see The Hip in Vancouver. Then on Friday night I was at my friend's house and he's like hey I have some extra tickets, wanna come. Hell ya I wanna come. lol.

08/14 - WARPED!!!
09/05 - Bumbershoot (Bands I want to see include AAR, Uh Huh Her, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head, Sick Puppies. The girl I'm going with wants to see Katy Perry so I guess I'm going to that. She is taking me for free so I guess I can suck it up and watch her lol.)
10/08 - AP Tour Fall Ball (TAI, Mayday Parade, Set Your Goals, the Secret Handshake, and You Me At Six.) - [maybe]
10/17 - Dragonette - [maybe]

There may also be Kings Of Leon on 08/16 ... I'm trying to get out of it though because I can't really afford it. But I'll go if my friend can't find someone else to buy the ticket.

Ya I'm only going for the Saturday. And pretty much everyone I want to see if playing at the exact same time ... Meh, it's free. Can't really complain.

How come whenever Andrew McMahon comes to Philadelphia, he sells out immediately? That man is too popular for his own good.

Again, no where near me. What happened to JM rescheduling their tour in the fall. Remember the whole "we're cancelling our tour to tour with The Fray". I want my Vancouver JM show!

I'm not going to Bumbershoot anymore. I have a lot of shows that I'm "thinking about" ... I have to wait until Alana gets back and then we're going to decide which ones we want to go to.
